CHILD PROTECTION
Child Protection – StageKidz
We have a duty of care to our students and parents, who need to feel confident that as an organization, we have the safety and well-being of their children as our primary concern. At StageKidz, we are committed to providing a secure, inclusive, and supportive environment where students can thrive creatively and socially. To achieve this, we go to great lengths to ensure the highest level of care in our classes.
Our teaching staff all receive full background checks. StageKidz requires all of its managers, teachers, and assistants to conduct a Criminal Record Check with the RCMP, including vulnerable sector searches.
Safety is No.1
As per Canadian law and good working practices, StageKidz requires all of its principals, teachers and assistants to conduct a Criminal record check with the RCMP including vulnerable sector searches.
Our teaching staff all receive full background checks as well as latest updates and regular training on child protection protocol.
Stagekidz will be implementing controls wherever necessary and will confirm that personal protective equipment will be worn by any faculty, staff, student, volunteer or visitor.
Stagekidz has created this set of procedures and guidelines to proceed in our business with explicit understanding of the core requirements to do so:
-
-
- Ensuring active daily screening of staff, contractors, students and visitors.
- Ensuring gathering sizes are maintained at or below the established thresholds under the Provincial and Regional Public Health and WorkSafe BC Orders.
- Ensuring hygiene protocols are clearly communicated to and followed by all employees, contractors, students, and visitors.
- Ensuring cleaning and disinfection protocols are clearly communicated to and followed by all employees and contractors.
- Ensuring and mandating mandatory masks at all times in common areas and classes.
-
The nature of our business is such that we provide a registered instructional activity.
We have effectively limited our class sizes within the Physical Distancing Measures by reducing the density of students, minimizing cross over of visitors by having set arrival and departure times, keeping students within the same or similar class groupings with the same teacher on a regular basis for their lesson and maintaining full and complete identification records of who has been in our business.
StageKidz will maintain accurate and up to date contact information for all faculty, staff, students, and volunteers (if applicable) including:
-
-
-
- Full Name
- Date of Birth
- Home Address
- Medical Conditions
- Parent/Guardian Name and Contact Information
- Alternate Emergency Contact

Class Levels and Structure
At StageKidz, we believe that every child deserves an opportunity to shine, which is why our classes are carefully structured to suit different ages and abilities. Our Mini Stage program is designed specifically for younger students, focusing on foundational skills in a nurturing and fun environment. For older and more advanced students, our Main Stage classes offer a dynamic curriculum that builds on existing skills and prepares them for more challenging performances.
